As an elementary teacher...

I strive to share my knowledge with students and encourage their success. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and work towards overcoming any obstacles their background may present. As an elementary school teacher, it is my goal to build a foundation for my students to build upon as they move forward. I hope to foster a love of learning in my students by building upon their strengths and working to improve their weaknesses without making them discouraged. I want to form strong relationships with each student, no matter their academic level, as I believe it leads to a better teaching environment. I also hope to use my psychology background to be able to teach information in the way that is most effective for learning. I hope to use what I learn in psychology to implement strategies that encourage beneficial group dynamics and motivate students to behave well and be successful academically. I also hope to teach gifted students in a way that addresses their unique ability by challenging them and encouraging their full potential. I want to apply the same educational objectives I have for myself to my students by instilling children with not only the knowledge and skills they need to grow up and become successful people, but the values and passion they need to become admirable people.
